I thought I would share my journey. It has been a long one but well worth the time spent. I have been studying mindfulness for the past 5 years now, and it has helped me change my life perspective and overall outlook along with reducing my anxiety.

I have been struggling with anxiety for a long time. I used to think that it was just me, but then I realized that many people feel the same way as I do.

I have always been interested in exploring more ways to help reduce my anxiety, but I have never really had the time to commit myself to it. It has also helped me become more aware of myself and others around me which I am so grateful for!

These are some of the things that help me when I am feeling anxious or stressed out.

1) Breathe deeply - When you are feeling anxious, it is important to take deep breaths and try not to panic. It can be hard at first but once you get into the habit of doing this, it will become easier and more natural.
2) Listen to music - Music is a great way to calm down when you are feeling anxious or stressed out because it can distract your thoughts

As a child and now as an adult I was always an introverted personality, and I know now that I am naturally mindful. As a child I would spend hours in my room, just thinking about life. I would find peace in the silence and still do until today.

Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of the present moment without judgment. It is an approach to mental training that can be used to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

The benefits of mindfulness have been backed by research in neuroscience and psychology.

Mindfulness can help people who are struggling with a variety of health conditions such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and addiction.

I was skeptical at first, but then I decided to give it a try. And you know what? It's been amazing! Mindfulness has helped me take a step back from my life.

It has helped me find happiness in the little things - like taking a deep breath when we are feeling overwhelmed or appreciating all of the beautiful things around us that we often take for granted.

I started by reading books on mindfulness and practicing it sporadically. It wasn’t until I started meditating back in 2019, that I saw the benefits of mindfulness in my life.

I believe that everyone should give mindfulness a try because it can help with stress, anxiety, depression, and many other mental health issues.

Mindfulness is a practice that has been around for centuries. But in the past decade, it has been gaining popularity, with more and more people practicing this technique.

Since then, I have become more mindful of the world around me. I can see things from a different perspective than before and feel more connected with people.

It has helped me to become more present and not dwell on the past or worry about the future.

One of my favorite sayings that I learned to say was "Thoughts are NOT FACTS"

Thoughts are not facts. They are just thoughts.

We should not think of our thoughts as facts because they can change and be wrong.

We can drive ourselves crazy thinking over and over about the same thought, leading to high anxiety and stress.

In the end, the outcome of our thoughts ends up being untrue and we just waste a great amount of energy worrying about something that wasn't even a fact. We need to keep our thoughts in the present moment, that's all we really have.

That's where Trust & Allow comes into play

Creating your own mindfulness practice

  • Choose a comfortable quiet place in your home or workspace

  • Establishing a routine

  • Focus on being present in the moment

  • Be aware of your thoughts and feelings as they arise

  • most importantly keep it simple and tailored to suit you

One thing that I have made part of my morning and nighttime routine is listening to a short meditation podcast in the morning and another at night. This can help you feel calmer and more focused.

For best results ensure to complete your morning podcast meditation the first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. For the nighttime podcast meditation before bed, make sure that your podcast, is the last thing you hear before falling asleep. Try to reframe from watching social media- it will only reactivate your calmer mind, into thinking about things again before bed.

It can help with emotional regulation, clear your mind and provide an overall sense of peace.

It's definitely not a one-size-fits-all practice. There are many different ways to practice and each person can find what works best for them.

One of the best ways to start your Mindfulness Journey is by joining a learning class or online retreat- one I recommend would be Mindfulness Exercises
